For the fisherman, this was the go-to source for starter information on Texas’ public reservoirs. Chock full of maps, lake records and facility info, this was 307 pages of spiral-bound nuggets.
Co-authors Bobby Farquhar, a Texas Parks and Wildlife field fisheries biologists now retired, and journalist Mark S. McDonald teamed to produce in 1991 a primer covering every public reservoir in the state with 750 surface acres or more. Never had so much data on so many of Texas’ prime freshwater fishing holes been compiled in one spot.
Now out of print, this book once found a permanent place in many a console of pickup trucks, or top trays of tackle boxes.
